About me
Elijah Chester, a Grammy Award winner and international performer, is no stranger to the
stage. A native of North Carolina, he grew up with a love for all forms of theatrical expression. His studies and training have ranged from the North Carolina School of the
Arts, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in music performance, and NYC to study at the Juilliard School,
where he studied both singing and acting.
Quickly rocketing onto the opera scene, he made his professional debut as “the youngest tenor ever to sing for the Metropolitan Opera”.
Over the years, Elijah has performed with some of the most famous artists of stage and screen. He has performed leading roles around the world, including a smashing success in L.A. as the star in “Candide”, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
His recording and video credits have earned him a Grammy for “Best Principle Soloist” in the “Best Opera Recording” of 1994, as well as a 1998 Dove Award for “Our Savior, Emmanuel”.
In recent years, after an 8 year hiatus to start a family, Elijah has returned to performing, with
the main focus being on film this time around.
Even after a short start he has landed a handful of national commercials, industrials, voice overs, along with a few low budget features, short films and student films.
